School for Young Scientists: "Objects and Methods of Developmental Biology: Genomic, Molecular, and Morphogenetic Mechanisms of Development and Regeneration"
From September 24-27, 2026, the Koltsov Institute of Developmental Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences will host a school for young scientists entitled "Objects and Methods of Developmental Biology: Genomic, Molecular, and Morphogenetic Mechanisms of Development and Regeneration." The school is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the eminent embryologist D.P. Filatov (1876–1943). It is supported by the Russian Science Foundation (grant no. 23-74-30005). Venue: IBD RAS (Moscow, 26 Vavilova St.).
From September 24-27, 2026, the Koltsov Institute of Developmental Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences will host a school for young scientists, "Objects and Methods of Developmental Biology: Genomic, Molecular, and Morphogenetic Mechanisms of Development and Regeneration." School participants will become familiar with methods of experimental developmental biology, fluorescence, and confocal microscopy, and master techniques for working with a wide range of objects, from basal multicellular organisms to vertebrates.
The following master classes are planned as part of the school:
- Methods for studying embryonic inducers and regulatory factors. Microinjection Method.
- Transplantation Experiments. Organizer Region Transplantation.
- Methods of Working with Ex Ovo Avian Embryos. The Chicken Embryo: A Model for Studying Vertebrate Angiogenesis.
- Model for Studying Vertebrate Regeneration: Tail Regeneration in Xenopus Laevis Tadpoles.
- Methods of Experimental Work with Spiralia Embryos.
- Experimental Study of the Developmental and Regenerative Biology of Basal Metazoa (Porifera and Cnidaria).
- Peculiarities of Experimental Work with Embryos of Phylogenetically Ancient Vertebrate Groups.
In addition, leading scientists in the field of developmental biology will give lectures on "Regulation of Animal Development," "The Phenomenon of Epimorphic Regeneration," "Scaling in Metazoan Embryos," and "Evolutionarily Ancient Forms of Cell Behavior."
