Chromatographic properties of Gefil, novel hydrophilic dextran gels

The chromatographic properties of Gefil, new domestic hydrophilic dextran gels prepared by an original technology, were examined. The physicochemical properties of the Gefil gels were determined and compared with those of the corresponding Sephadex gels from Pharmacia (Sweden). It was found that a mixture of purine bases (hypoxanthine, xanthine, and uric acid) can be completely separated on gels when eluted with phosphate buffer solutions of different concentrations. Domestic Gefil hydrophilic dextran gels are highly competitive with Sephadex hydrophilic dextran gels in the separation of purine bases and nucleosides. © 1999 MAEe cyrillic signK "Hayκa/Interperiodica".
