Yuri Utkin was awarded by the Certificate of honor of the Russian Academy of Sciences «For long-term and fruitful work in the Russian Academy of Sciences and in connection with the Academy 275 anniversary» and the medal “850 anniversary of Moscow”. He was recipient of State scientific stipendium for outstanding scientists (1997-2002).

Scientific interests

 

Current research interests of Yuri Utkin are the study of animal venoms including search in the venoms and isolation of the proteins with new pharmacological properties as well as determination of their biological activity. The main direction of the investigations – polypeptide compounds interacting with Cys-loop receptors.
