43-й семинар СМУ: «Биолюминесценция и Япония»
20 октября 2017 г. в 15:00 в Малом зале ИБХ РАН состоится Общий Семинар Совета Молодых Ученых, где выступит Юичи Оба (Yuichi Oba) из Университета Чубу (Chubu University, Japan) с темой "Биолюминесценция и Япония".

"Japan is like a treasure box of luminous organisms" – these are the words mentioned by Newton Harvey, the father of bioluminescence in USA, at the 1st Conference on Bioluminescence in 1952. In Japan, as his legendary declaration, we hold lots of luminous species on land and in the sea. In this talk, I introduce the variety of Japanese luminous organisms and our continuous efforts on the studies of their bioluminescence, particularly by Dr. Yata Haneda and Dr. Osamu Shimomura, also our recent fruitful collaboration with Yampolsky’s team in Russia.
The photo is the luminescence of the fireworm Odontosyllis appeared only early in October at Toyama Bay.
